Vengaboys: style for Suno V6

Vengaboys were the ultimate party machine of the late-1990s Eurodance boom, a Dutch group whose relentlessly cheerful, cheesy bangers turned the turn-of-the-millennium dancefloor into a non-stop holiday. Masterminded by Dutch producers Wessel van Diepen and Dennis van den Driesschen, the group paired bright, pumping four-on-the-floor beats and sunny synth hooks with call-and-response party chants from its charismatic male-female line-up. Hits like 'Boom, Boom, Boom, Boom!!', 'We Like to Party (The Vengabus)' and 'Up & Down' were engineered for maximum, unashamed fun — simple, sticky and impossible to sit still to. There was never anything subtle about it: the appeal was pure, technicolour joy, all sunshine, beaches and disco. Behind the kitsch sat slick, professional Euro-pop production and monster hooks. Across Europe and the former Soviet republics especially, Vengaboys became shorthand for 90s party nostalgia, their singles still guaranteed to fill any dancefloor with a grin. Their debut The Party Album and its run of number ones made them a fixture of MTV and school discos alike, and a 2018 revival of 'We're Going to Ibiza' proved their staying power. Where other Eurodance acts chased cool, Vengaboys embraced full-blown, sun-cream-and-cocktails silliness — and that fearless commitment to fun is exactly why the songs never faded.
