Nazareth: style for Suno V6

Nazareth brought a hard, blues-soaked snarl out of Dunfermline, Scotland, forming in 1968 and riding it through the 1970s on a run of gritty, riff-driven rock. Dan McCafferty's voice was the calling card — a piercing, sandpaper rasp that could turn a tender ballad venomous or a boogie stomp downright feral. The band balanced two modes with rare ease: raucous rockers like the swaggering 'Hair of the Dog', built on chugging riffs and pub-brawl energy, and slow-burning ballads. Their transformation of the Everly Brothers' 'Love Hurts' into an aching power ballad, all restraint over piano and strings, became a worldwide hit and a staple of every slow dance. Beneath the grit sat a tight, muscular band — punchy drums, thick overdriven guitar and a bass that locked the groove down hard, as on their charging cover of Joni Mitchell's 'This Flight Tonight'. They were never fashionable, but they were relentlessly durable, finding an especially devoted audience across the Soviet bloc, where their records passed hand to hand. Nazareth defined a blue-collar, no-frills strain of hard rock built to be played loud.
