Suno audio upload failed: what to check for each error

A stalled progress bar and a message about matching an existing recording need different fixes. Read the exact error first. Changing pitch will not repair a broken export or a browser connection.
Start with a small check
- Play the original file in a regular player. Check the beginning and ending.
- Save the error text or a screenshot. Note the format, duration and file size.
- Try a short recording of your own, such as 15 seconds of humming. If it uploads, compare the files. If it fails too, check the browser, account and connection.
“Upload failed” or a progress bar that never finishes
Re-export the file as WAV or MP3. Renaming the extension does not convert audio: open it in an editor and export a new copy. Standard PCM is a useful WAV export option. Keep the original.
For a large file, cut a short excerpt and try again. This is a diagnostic test, not a rule that every song must be short. Try Suno on the web in another browser, then disable extensions one at a time to find a conflict. Avoid sending the same upload repeatedly.
Check the upload duration
Suno’s Audio Uploads instructions list up to 60 seconds for Basic and 8 minutes for Pro/Premier. An older help page still mentions 120 seconds. Check the limit shown in your account’s upload window. If a paid account rejects a file within that limit, include that detail in a support request.
“This audio matches an existing recording”
This is a matching message, not a file-size or codec error. The message alone does not tell us which part matched. We do not know Suno’s internal detection process, and changing tempo is not a guaranteed fix.
For your own recording, keep the project and original export. Contact Suno through its help centre with the error, attempt time and file details. Explain the recording’s origin when needed. Avoid posting private source material in public comments.

- Your plan, browser or app version.
- The file format, duration and size.
- Whether a short original recording uploads in the same account.
